Stacey John-Davis was delighted to help Swansea City Ladies complete a double over Genero Adran Premier title rivals Cardiff Met after her brace in Sunday’s 3-0 win.

John-Davis bagged a brace to add to Shaunna Jenkins’ opener in Sunday’s victory over the Archers, a result which saw the Swans leapfrog Met and go top of the table with a game in hand.

It could prove an important result in the final analysis, however, John-Davis insists that the Ladies aren’t getting ahead of themselves with plenty still to play for.

“It is lovely to score to help the girls, but the main thing is that we got the win and come away with three points. We came away with what we set out to get which is great,” she said.

“It doesn’t matter who we play on the pitch on the day, the job is the same, the task is the same. We must come away with three points.

“It is nice to say that we have beaten Cardiff Met twice this season but every game we set out to do the same.

“The girls dug deep, the conditions were tough, but we got down to it. We played our game and the football that we know we can play.

“We knew what the task was, and we knew that Cardiff Met would come and bring it, but we had to bring it 10 times more and we did that.

“There is a long way to go before the break at Christmas, then we will come back and do the exact same as we have done.”
