Steve Cooper will be paying no attention to Nottingham Forest’s league position, and is expecting Swansea City to face a tough away trip against the Reds.

While the Swans sit fourth in the standings after 13 games, the side they pipped to a play-off place last term are in 20th place.

However, they have shown signs of improvement since Chris Hughton took over from Sabri Lamouchi in early October.

And Swans boss Cooper considers the Reds squad to be among the strongest in the Championship, meaning there is no chance of the visitors taking a trip to the City Ground lightly.

“You look at Forest’s squad and - if you take away the teams that have come down who naturally have strong squads - they have got as strong a squad as anybody,” he said.

“That’s the team we’re playing and planning to play against.

“It will be a really tough game away from home, and one we have to be more than ready for. “These are the types of games you have to show real self- belief to get the right performance and result.

“Chris is a really experienced manager. He has been there and done that plenty of times and we’ve got to be ready, but we will be.”
