Steve Cooper wants Swansea City to find the consistency they have been striving for by stringing together results over the finale of the Championship season.

The Swans head to St Andrew’s Trillion Trophy Stadium this evening (6pm), looking to record back-to-back wins following their victory over Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday.

That success against the Owls kept Swansea in the Championship play-off hunt ahead of this midweek round of fixtures.

Tuesday’s results mean Cooper’s side kick-off tonight sitting four points off the top six as time ticks down on the extended 2019-20 campaign.

Head coach Cooper cut a frustrated figure when his side were unable to build on a fine win at Middlesbrough in their first game following the resumption of football last month.

He wants to make sure there are no such disappointments or regrets over the final quintet of fixtures.

“Consecutive wins are so important at this time of the season,” said Cooper.

“If we can do it, it will be really good for us because a lot can still happen even though there are not so many games left, because of how quickly the games come around.

“We have to focus on doing our bit and you never know what can happen.

“We have been striving for consistency over the season, there is no better time for us to find that.

“We don’t want to have any regrets come the end of the season, that’s been the message since we came back

“We are not lacking effort or application. I will never question the attitude or the commitment to the cause of these players.

“This is the journey we are on. It will only get better and, like anything, we want it sooner rather than later.”
