Steve Cooper hopes Swansea City can continue to show their cutting edge when they face Reading in Wednesday’s Championship finale.

The play-off chasing Swans will be looking for victory at the Madejski Stadium, and hope results elsewhere go in their favour and allow them to claim a top-six place.

They make the trip to Berkshire with their attacking game in good nick; strikers Andre Ayew and Rhian Brewster having picked up where they left off before the suspension of football in March.

Conor Gallagher has remained influential in the final third, while Connor Roberts and Jake Bidwell have thrived on the flanks following the switch to a three-man defence.

Cooper has been pleased with the threat his side have offered, and hopes that trait can continue into this key fixture.

“We know the strikers can score goals and we know we can create chance for them both,” said Cooper.

“Conor (Gallagher) has been involved in a number of goals for us too, even though he has not scored himself, both before and after the lockdown.

“Connor Roberts scored at the weekend, while Jake Bidwell has been assisting goals too.

“So, in terms of attacking play, we have players in good form, not just the two boys at the top of the pitch.

“We want to keep that going, but we want to defend well too and have the midfielders do their jobs too.

“It will be a team effort. We are looking forward to it, we know we have to play well in the game and we have to win. That’s what we are determined to do.”
