Steve Cooper praised the attitude and desire of his side, particularly wing-backs Connor Roberts and Jake Bidwell, after they snatched a dramatic late victory over Nottingham Forest.

Bidwell swung in a deep cross from the left, and Roberts arrived at the back post to leap above Yuri Ribeiro and power home a header in the dying moments of the game.

It was enough to seal a 1-0 win, which moved the Swans back up to third in the Championship table, one point behind second-placed Brentford with two games in hand.

And Cooper was pleased with how his side kept going in search of a winner, and the energy shown by his two wide men.

“It was a great cross and great header but, beyond that, look at the energy and the desire from the pair of them to get into those areas,” said the head coach.

“The attitude to be there, and that is one thing I cannot fault tonight, because when you don’t play well it is easy to get frustrated, to lose a bit of concentration and confidence.

“But there wasn’t any of that. We were not at our most fluent tonight, but we rolled up our sleeves and made sure we did everything we could to try and win the game.

“We kept the ball out of the net and scored, so I am not going to worry too much about how it looked.

“We will get back in tomorrow and look to prepare for the next game.

“The dressing room was as loud as it’s been this season, and the boys deserve to enjoy it.”
