Steve Cooper wants Swansea City to find a clinical edge in front of goal to make the most of their strong start to the season.

The Swans sit sixth in the Championship table following the 1-0 defeat at Norwich last weekend, where the visitors spurned a number of chances that could have ensured the result ended in their favour.

They were also unable to fully capitalise on their control of long periods of the draw against Brentford, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

While the Swans have only drawn a blank on two occasions in their 11 games so far, Cooper does feel they need to start converting a higher percentage of their opportunities.

“We do have to take positives out of how we have played at places like Brentford and Norwich, and the chances we are creating,” he said.

“We will get over the defeat at Norwich, you have to because that’s how it is in the Championship.

“You can play well and lose, you can play poorly and win, but we have to get ready during the international break and be ready for the next set of games when they come around.

“It is tight at the top of the table, with a lot of teams on a similar amount of points and I think it will remain that way for a long time.

“It was disappointing not to get a result, we have dominated large parts of the last two games and not had that edge to take those chances and put the games to bed.

“That’s something we know we will need to show.”
