Steve Cooper believes Swansea City are gelling as a team, and hopes to see them take another forward step against Millwall on Saturday.

To this point the Swans have made five summer signings – including the loan returns of Marc Guehi and Freddie Woodman – to bed into the squad at the start of the new campaign.

But the signs are already encouraging; the Swans have yet to concede a league goal, whilst Cooper was also pleased with the attacking fluency shown during periods of the win over Wycombe.

And he hopes that growth will continue against an unbeaten Millwall side, and through the upcoming international break.

“I think we are gelling throughout the team,” the head coach told his pre-match press conference.

Swans celebrate v Wycombe

“It’s not just the front three, we have Korey Smith in midfield who is new, and the three guys at the back had not played as a three together before this season.

“We have all been getting going now, we are a few weeks in and you should see some consistency and building in terms of our work.

“But we are not quite where we want to be yet, and that’s because of time. We have used the week to try and get ready for the game while building the levels of our play.

“I feel that will stand us in good stead for Saturday, and then there is an international break we need to make the most of.”
