Steve Cooper | We created a number of chances and deserved the win

Steve Cooper felt his Swansea City side had deserved to return to winning ways as Ben Cabango’s second-half header secured a 1-0 win.

The centre-half rose highest to meet Conor Hourihane’s corner and net his fourth goal of the season.

The Swans could have won by a greater margin, with Jamal Lowe and Matt Grimes also going close to finding the net.

But it was Cabango’s goal that settled a hard-fought encounter and saw Swansea get the ideal response to their weekend defeat at Huddersfield.

"I thought we deserved it. I thought we were the team who created the real chances in the game," he said.

"Ironically we scored from a set play, a wonderful delivery from Conor and a good header from Ben that we've seen more than once this season.

"I thought we created numerous chances in the game to win it more comfortably in what was a tough game.

"You saw the game at their place, we were quite happy with a point and we knew it was going to be tough. They had an excellent win at the weekend against Brentford and named an unchanged team.

"I thought we were the superior team, created the clearer chances in the game.

"Freddie's [Woodman] not really had a save to make, considering we had to defend a lot of long balls late on and set-pieces, we showed a good side of resilience.

"It wasn't so much about Saturday, we'll put whatever happens behind us and we'll look forward."
