Swansea City boss Steve Cooper is braced for a tough assignment against Millwall this afternoon, and wants his side to show the positive mindset they will need to continue their fine start to the season.

The Swans and the Lions are two of the remaining unbeaten sides in the Champion, taking seven and five points respectively from their three games apiece.

In those games they have conceded just the one goal between them, with that coming in the form of a Brentford penalty against the Lions last weekend.

Given the margins between the two sides have been narrow over the previous two seasons, there is little reason to expect anything different at the Liberty Stadium come 3pm.

And Cooper knows what lies in wait for his side.

“It will be a tough game, no doubt about that,” said the head coach.

“They’ve had some positive results already, they had a really tight game against Brentford last weekend that could have gone their way, especially after taking the lead with a well-worked goal.

“They are a good team, they play in a good way that allows them to be in games and we have to be ready for that.

“But we go off a positive performance against Wycombe and the aim will be to build on that and to try and impose the way we play, knowing their strengths and the areas where we think we can hurt them.

“We then need to have the right mindset to go and deliver it. We will want to be high up the pitch and being creative with the ball.

“We were very fluid last week and that’s the team we are striving to be. It’s not easy to play that way all the time, but the intention to do that will be the same on Saturday.”
