Steve Cooper wants Swansea City to make their good form count as they prepare to host Championship leaders Leeds United at the Liberty Stadium on Sunday.

Back-to-back wins over Sheffield Wednesday and Birmingham City have moved Swansea to within a point and a place of the play-off spots with just four games of the season remaining.

They next face Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds on home turf, before heading to face another promotion chasing side in Nottingham Forest.

They are tough assignments, but Cooper’s side have momentum behind them - having taken 10 points from 15 since the season restarted - and everything to play for as the race for a top-six finish comes down to the wire.

And, while pleased to see his side gain consecutive victories for the first time since December, Cooper knows those results will only be significant if Swansea make the most of the opportunity they have given themselves.

“It only matters if we take it into the Leeds game, that is what matters now,” said Cooper.

“We have to focus, see what we did well, review the game, go through it with the players and get ready for the next one.

“The three points have never been so important, but we have to build on what was good in this performance, and take it into the next one.

“It’s been a good 24 hours for us, but it can change so quickly and the moment we start thinking about what might be…it’s not something I want us to do.

“Things will change for the better and for the worse, that’s the way it is.

“We have to focus on the football, this has been good for us, but it means nothing if we don’t go on from here.”
