Steve Cooper insists Swansea City head to Millwall ready to fight and with no intention of giving up on their promotion hosts.

The Swans head to The Den this afternoon (12.30pm) looking to end a run of four-straight defeats that has seen them fall 10 points adrift of second-placed Watford, and to within four points of seventh-placed Bournemouth.

The recent sequence has been out of keeping with what has been a season where Swansea have defied pre-season expectations and predictions to be in the automatic promotion hunt.

The last four games have marked the first time they have lost consecutive league fixtures this term.

Head coach Cooper acknowledges the run has not come at a good time, but he has confidence in the resilience of his players to respond against an in-form Lions team.

There’s never a good time to not pick up any points and not score goals,” he said.

“As I've said before, success isn’t easy. It’s an up and down road to reach objectives. We talk about it openly with the group.

“You either fight and work even harder, or you accept it and you give in. It certainly won’t be the latter.

“We recognise you’ve got to do things a bit better. I’ve loved the attitude of the players this week.”
