Steve Cooper | We'll play our way

Swansea City head coach Steve Cooper wants his squad to be bold and showcase their style of play in what he expects to be an entertaining encounter at Derby County (3pm).

The Swans and the Rams will be looking to continue their winning starts to the new campaign, with Cooper’s men having seen off Hull and County claiming three points at Huddersfield.

Cooper, 39, has spoken of his desire for a high-tempo attacking and pressing game from his side, and there have been glimpses of the effectiveness of that gameplan over pre-season and that win over the Tigers.

And, while aware of the threat the hosts – who reached the play-off final last term – will pose, he wants Swansea to show a positive mentality at Pride Park.

“It was a good game on Monday night against Huddersfield, and Derby played well offensively, particularly in that first half, so we will have to be aware of that,” he said.

“I think it has got the makings of a real good match where both teams want to play with the ball and are determined to win it back when they haven’t got it.

“That is our way and our style, no matter who we play against, and we travel up there looking forward to it.”
