Steve Cooper says Swansea City have already put their Middlesbrough disappointment behind them, and are looking forward to being back on home soil against Luton.

The Swans face the Hatters on the back of a 2-1 defeat on Teesside in midweek, a result that handed them just a third loss of the league season.

Cooper’s side have shown an ability to bounce back from disappointment – and have only suffered back-to-back league defeats once during the head coach’s tenure.

And he believes his players have the right mentality to ensure that continues against a Hatters’ team buoyed by their midweek win over Norwich.

“They’re a professional group,” said Cooper of his squad.

“It’s always disappointing to lose a game of football but we’ve moved on already.

“We know we didn’t play as well as we’d have liked but you can’t dwell on it. We’ll be ready, that’s for sure.”

The defeat in midweek saw the Swans fall to seventh in the table, just outside the play-off berths but, with so long remaining in the season, Cooper’s attention is on the games ahead rather than the make-up of the table after just a third of the campaign.

“We’re just focused on trying to win the next game,” he added.

“If you get too into it (looking at the table) that’s when things can go wrong, things can change so much in a matter of a couple of games.

“We’ve already played so many, you’ve just got to focus on what’s next.

“When there are times in the season, maybe when it’s an FA Cup week or an international break you can reflect on where you’re at, maybe that’s when we’ll do it.”
