Swansea City Ladies’ Welsh Premier Women’s League Cup match against Port Talbot has been postponed.

The Swans – who have won their first two league fixtures of the season – had been set to make the journey down the M4 to start the group stage of the competition on Sunday.

But a statement from the FAW said: “The Orchard Welsh Premier Women’s League Cup match between Port Talbot Town and Swansea City has been postponed following a decision of the FAW Medical Panel.

“The match was due to be played on Sunday, 18 October, however, following a positive COVID-19 test within the Port Talbot Town squad, the decision has been taken to postpone the game.

“The FAW was informed of the positive test by the club on Friday (16 October). As a result, the club has since followed national guidelines and a further two squad members are currently isolating as a precaution until their test results are received.

“A new date for the match will be arranged in due course.”
