Swansea City Ladies goalkeeper Claire Skinner has claimed the Welsh Premier Women’s League Golden Glove for the 2020-2021 campaign.

The Swans had a memorable season, winning the league and cup double, with Skinner playing a pivotal role in the success.

She kept a clean sheet in every single WPWL fixture she appeared in after signing for Swansea in December.

But, Skinner refused to take on the award as an individual accolade and thanked the rest of her team-mates for the collective defensive efforts.

“I’m over the moon and I couldn’t have asked for a better start to my career at Swansea,” she said.

“The whole team has kept the clean sheet record, not just me. The defence starts from the forwards up top and it is maintained throughout the team; the award is 100% a team effort.

“It’s the best start to my career at Swansea I could have wished for, but it’s down to the team as a whole for smashing it and keeping the ball away from the net in the first place.”
