Brandon Cooper Newport

With the first month of the season done and dusted, we take a look at how Swansea City’s loan players have fared so far in their spells away from the club.

Defender Brandon Cooper has made an impressive start to his loan spell with Newport County, helping Mike Flynn’s side top the League Two table and come within an ace of reaching the Carabao Cup quarter-finals.

The Wales Under-21 international has already made eight appearances and received words of praise from Flynn and Steve Cooper.

He was the unfortunate player to miss the crucial penalty in the cup shoot-out defeat to Premier League Newcastle, but he has acquitted himself well in his new surroundings.

Midfielder Jack Evans, meanwhile, made his debut for Pafos FC as he came off the bench in their victory over Nea Salamis Famagusta, a result which leaves Cameron Toshack’s side in 10th place in the Cypriot top-flight.

Barrie McKay has made two appearances for Fleetwood since making his loan switch to Highbury Stadium, coming on as a substitute in defeat to AFC Wimbledon before starting the loss at Rochdale.

Joel Asoro has yet to make an appearance for Genoa, with goalkeeper Josh Gould also awaiting his first outing in Barry Town United colours.
