Swansea City is pleased to announce that the club is removing all ONLINE booking fees for match ticket purchases for the rest of the season.

Booking fees were introduced 18 months ago to cover standard ticket provider (Ticketmaster) costs and Government legislated changes to credit card charges.

It meant supporters were charged £1.25 for online bookings per ticket and £2.50 for phone bookings and purchases made in person at the ticket office. The club made no profit on these charges as they just covered the costs of the service.

However, the club has decided to remove and subsidise all ONLINE booking fees for the rest of the season and will review the situation at the end of the campaign.

The club has also removed all booking fees – online, phone and in person – for £1 ‘kids for a quid’ tickets and the £5 under-18 tickets in the South Family Stand to encourage more youngsters to attend fixtures at the Liberty Stadium.

Swansea City chairman, Trevor Birch, confirmed: “The booking fee structure did not sit comfortably with me when I arrived at the club. I was also made aware of how unpopular these fees were with our supporters, even though they just covered our ticketing operation costs.

“However, we have taken on board the feedback from our supporters and decided to remove the booking fees for online ticket sales for the rest of the season and shoulder the cost.

“While the club will subsidise these fees, the benefit to our supporters is more important. Not only will it slightly ease the financial burden for our fans, but it will also hopefully ease matchday queues and waiting times at the ticket office, resulting in an improved matchday experience.

“Booking fees for phone and personal callers to the ticket office will still apply, but hopefully more fans will make use of the online fees concession going forward.’’

We will continue to monitor the situation, but supporters are encouraged to use the online facility for ticket purchases.

Home tickets can then be:

  • Downloaded as an e-ticket onto the official club app and displayed at the turnstile for entry (ensure you download the ticket onto the app wallet before travelling to the stadium to avoid mobile phone connection problems when you arrive);
  • Printed at home as an e-ticket and shown at the turnstile (ensure the barcode is legible for the scanners);
  • Collected at the stadium on matchday via the new collection pod (current programme booth) outside the ticket office. The collection option when purchasing tickets will only be available approximately 48 hours before the game when it is too late to send the tickets by post;
  • Delivered in the post via Royal Mail. This service will incur a reduced postage charge of £1.25 per delivery / order rather than the £1.25 per ticket previously charged.

The club has produced two useful guides to help supporters use the e-ticket facility. You can find them HERE and HERE

Away Tickets: The club has also removed the online booking fee for the purchase of away tickets. However, supporters should be aware that there is no e-ticket print at home or app facility available to complement this service. Therefore, tickets ordered online will be posted out at a reduced fee of £1.25 per delivery / order rather than £1.25 per ticket as previously charged.

The £2.50 booking fee per ticket will remain for phone or in-person purchases at the ticket office.

Please note that the £2.50 booking fee per Jack Army membership will remain for all purchases, including online. Season ticket booking fees will also remain at £3.50 for all purchases.
