The Swansea City squad provided Christmas cheer to the local kids of Swansea during a special party at the Liberty Stadium.

The annual event was staged for hundreds of children who have spent time at the Dyfed Ward of Morriston Hospital throughout the year, plus other deserving youngsters from the local community.

Organised by the Swans along with nursing staff at Morriston Hospital and local businessman Phil Lake, the Christmas bash once again proved a big success as the players met youngsters for photos, autographs and a chat.

Skipper Matt Grimes was part of the squad in attendance, and he underlined the importance of the event.

“Everyone connected with Swansea City, not just the players, knows how important the community is to this football club,” he said.

“What happens on the pitch is very important, of course, but this club has the community at its heart. We are a big family at Swansea City, and events like this are so important to us.

“The party is a great event, and the players enjoy it as much as the kids do.

“For the kids it's great to meet footballers who they watch at the Liberty and on TV. When I look around the party, I can see the players having just as much fun as the kids and families.

"This party kicks off the festive season and hopefully everyone will have a fantastic Christmas."
