Swansea City Under-21s League Cup Millwall

22nd November

Swansea City defender Alex Gogic says he wants the Under-21s to recover their form in their League Cup against Millwall.
The development squad face the Lions at Landore on Monday, November 23 (6:30pm).
The Swans bowed out of the competition at the first hurdle this time last year when a last minute own goal saw Ipswich seal the win at Portman Road.
Gogic, who featured in that game, insists he wants to put the disappointment of that night behind him by getting a result against Millwall on Monday evening.
"It is hard to forget that defeat against Ipswich," he said. "We were all left very disappointed that night.
"We want to bounce-back from the disappointment in this competition last season.
"We are looking forward to getting back to action, it has been three weeks since we last played."
"It will be nice to have a break from the league and to begin our campaign in the League Cup.
"For us nothing will change, we are going to go into the game with a winning mentality to go as far as we can in the competition."
The U21s will also be looking to bounce-back from a stoppage-time defeat in their last league match away at Fulham.
Despite dominating the London side at Motspur Park with a number of chances in front of goal, the Swans were defeated by a last gasp shot.
"Defeats like this are not easy to take but we have to come back stronger," the 20-year-old continued.
"Monday's game against Millwall is a good test to do that.
"We want to win games, so we need to learn from the defeats but forget about them as well.
"It is important we put the result against Fulham to bed so we can move on and get our motivation back that earned us wins against Wolves and Aston Villa."
The Swans will be without injured goalkeeper Josh Vickers for Monday's clash with under-18s' keeper Lewis Thomas coming into the squad to replace him.
