Timely confidence boost, says Ben
Ben Davies believes Wednesday's 3-0 triumph over Newcastle United was a welcome boost, going into a hugely important week for the club.
Michael Laudrup's side face Hull City in the Barclays Premier League on Monday before a trip to Switzerland to play St. Gallen in the Europa League on Thursday.
Should Swansea achieve positive results in both those games, they could end the week with 21 points from 15 games in the Premier League and qualification through to the knockout phase of the Europa League.
On Wednesday night, the Swans recorded their second home league win of the season, courtesy of goals from Nathan Dyer, Jonjo Shelvey and an own goal by Mathieu Debuchy.
The win put an end to Newcastle's four-game winning run, and Davies believes the nature of the victory breathes confidence into the squad at a very important moment.
"It was a very good time to get a win because it gives us a bit of confidence going into the next two games," said the Welsh international.
"I think it was probably our best performance at home this season - and that was shown by the result we got.
"We put in a good performance and were very happy, as a camp, to get the three points.
"We know that we need to pick up the points at home because that is where we should be at our strongest, even though, this year, we've managed to pick up three wins away from home.
"We just need to find a good balance, and every time we get the games at home, we need to take advantage of them."
Monday night's game against Hull will be the first time Swansea meet their opponents in the Premier League - ten years on from that memorable final day victory over the Tigers, which ensured the Swans retained their Football League status.
It will also see Danny Graham make a return to the Liberty for the first time since leaving the club in January, and Davies is looking forward to going up against his former teammate.
He added: "It will be a good experience - something we are all looking forward to.
"He's a great guy and someone who has helped me all the way through, so it will be good to go up against him.
"Both of our next two games are very winnable, and it's something we are all desperate to try and do.
"Hopefully, if we put the performances in, we will be able to get the results we want."
