Under-18s suffer home defeat to Palace

24th January

The Under-18s suffered their first home defeat since September as they went down 4-2 against Crystal Palace.
The Swans - who made 11 changes to the side that beat Doncaster in the FA Youth Cup in midweek - found themselves a goal down at the interval at Landore.
However, Ashleigh Harries levelled for the home side just six minutes into the second half with a fine free kick.
Then, just five minutes later, the Swans found themselves ahead as Brandon Griffths slotted home.
But three goals from Palace in the final half an hour meant that the Under-18s suffered a rare defeat on home soil.
Despite the defeat, coach Cameron Toshack insists there were plenty of positives.
"It was a very worthwhile exercise," he said. "We made 11 changes but were still extremely competitive and with half an hour to go we are leading the game.
"It was encouraging for us - we had an Under-15 goalkeeper and three Under-16s in our starting line-up, and that bodes well for the future.
"We have four games in eight days now. It will be a test for the players but one we are all looking forward to."
The Under-18s now turn their attention to Wednesday's FA Youth Cup tie against Chelsea.
