Vorm's relishing Anfield trip

Michel Vorm insists he's raring to face Liverpool on Sunday after returning to the starting line-up in last weekend's impressive win over QPR.

The Swans keeper missed games at Sunderland and West Ham, while Gerhard Tremmel continued to deputise between the sticks during the Capital One Cup semi-final against Chelsea.

But the Dutchman could not have picked a better game to return as Michael Laudrup's side produced a convincing display against the Premier League's bottom club.

After three games without a win, Saturday's triumph was well received ahead of a tough trip to Liverpool and the Capital One Cup final against Bradford.

It moved Laudrup's men up to seventh in the Premier League table, just three points short of the coveted 40-point mark and Vorm declared his delight at being back in the first team fold.

"It's never nice to miss games," he said. "But at least this time I wasn't out for quite so long, only two games, and it was great to be back.

"The QPR game was an important one for us and we did what we had to do and that was get the three points so it was very pleasing.

"We are playing with so much confidence at the moment. After three games without a goal it was important that we started well and we got the two early goals, which really helped us.

"But it was a great win, and it shows just how far we have come. Last season we may have drawn the game and that is another positive for us.

"We are really showing what we can do now, especially at home, and its great to see."

The only negative from Saturday's win was the injury to Chico Flores that could rule the defender out of the Wembley showpiece against Bradford.

However, that setback allowed Kyle Bartley to come on and make his Premier League debut for the Swans and despite the home side missing Leon Britton with an ankle injury, Vorm praised the quality and strength in depth that the club now has at its disposal.

"We have so much quality in this team," he said. "Even though Leon was missing against QPR, Ki (Sung-Yueng) and Jonathan (de Guzman) did well in midfield and Kemy (Agustien) came on in the second half and did great.

"It's a pleasure to play in this team and the fourth goal we scored really summed up our season and how we have been playing.

"I always like to celebrate with the back four because we talk a lot during the games, and every player knows what they are doing.

"We have such a strong squad that even the players like Kyle, who came on against QPR, did great and that's a strength for us."
