Steve Cooper wants his side to show their true values as Swansea City bid to turn their form around when they host Preston today (3pm).

Defeats to Bournemouth, Cardiff City and Birmingham City have seen the Swans slip nine points adrift of second-placed Watford with eight games remaining.

The Swans boss, though, believes his squad have the right attitude and mentality to change their form and fortunes – starting with Preston’s visit to SA1.

“We have got to take care of our own business. That involves looking at ourselves and playing better,” said Cooper.

“We are still in a positive league position, albeit the current situation doesn’t feel good because we’ve lost three on the bounce.

“That’s the test of character that we need to show. We need to show that we’re strong mentally and physically, and we’re a good team.

“We need to show our true value in our next game.”
