Applications for the Swans grant giving pot, SwansAid, are now officially open for another round of grant giving.

Offering financial aid of up to £10,000, SwansAid aims to financially support clubs, charities, organisations or projects that encourage young people, or those with disabilities, to get involved with sport, and the Community Trust are now accepting applications until November 25.

Made up of three separate categories, the Autumn round of funding will award the following:

· One large grant of up to £10,000

· Five small grants of up to £2,000

· One disability/inclusion grant of up to £5,000 for organisations making a concentrated effort to improve opportunities for disabled people to be active

Since its introduction in September 2013, SwansAid has made numerous grants totalling over £140,000 to an array of organisations and has funded everything from 3G pitches to coaching qualifications.

“This is a great opportunity for local charities and organisation that support the young and the disabled in sport, to obtain much needed funds to enhance their offerings and help even more people,” said head of the Community Trust, Linden Jones.

“In the past we’ve granted money to a broad range of organisations from football clubs to Parent Teacher Associations, and from gymnastic and circus clubs to disability football leagues, so no matter what sport it is your project delivers, we urge you to check your eligibility and apply."

So if your group operates within Swansea, Neath Port Talbot, Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion or Carmarthenshire, and you work with children, young people or those with a disability, then you may be eligible to apply.
