They may be rivals on the pitch, but Swansea City and Cardiff have combined to bring a smile to those fantastic people working in the NHS.

The Swans’ Community Trust and Bluebirds’ respective Foundation are providing free snacks and drinks to the NHS in the Cardiff and Swansea areas.

The initiative was sparked by Cardiff midfielder Will Vaulks and then backed by director Steve Borley, the Foundation’s vice-chairman, and Swans Community Trust chairman Leigh Dineen via Bulk Vending Systems.

While Vaulks has been delivering the snacks and drinks to the NHS in Cardiff, a full pallet of goodies has now been delivered to MP Carolyn Harris’ community help centre in Morriston to distribute to the NHS in Swansea.

“I have been good friends with Steve (Borley) for a number of years,’’ explained Dineen. “It’s great that the two clubs, through their respective football in the community departments, can join together during these difficult times to help those NHS workers who are doing such fantastic and selfless work.’’
