Mindset is key for Leroy Fer

18th August

Leroy Fer reckons Swansea City's mindset will be key to ensuring they shine in the Premier League this season.
Fer was the opening-day hero as Francesco Guidolin's men kicked off the new campaign with victory at Burnley.
Now the Swans are preparing for their first home fixture of 2016-17 against Hull City on Saturday.
And Fer believes the strong mentality Guidolin's players showed at the back-end of last term will be required again if they are to have a more enjoyable year.
Speaking in an interview for the first Jack Magazine edition of the 2016-17 Premier League season, Fer said: "I saw how tough the Premier League can be when I was with QPR and Norwich.

"But last season, when I came to Swansea, there was a big difference for me because we showed a lot of mental strength.
"We were 17th when I arrived, but we finished the games against Aston Villa, Norwich and Chelsea winning just 1-0. Arsenal away was another one where we won by one goal.
"That's something I learned from last year - that you need that mentality to win games. I hope we can show that mental strength again this season."
The Swans won six of their last 11 matches in 2015-16 to pull clear of relegation danger, finishing up in 12th place thanks to the late upturn in fortunes.
And they head into the Hull game in upbeat mood having chalked up victory at Turf Moor.
Fer shies away from making any bold predictions about what this season may bring - but believes the Swans can progress if they carry on where they left off in the spring.
"I hope we can achieve a top-half finish this year, but in the Premier League you never know," he added.
"You can't say at this stage in the season where you are going to finish. You just have to think that in every game you need to be better than the week before.
"Everybody is fresh at the start of the season and it's important that we stick together. Hopefully we can forget the first half of last season and try to do the same as we did in the second half of the season."
