Graham Potter will cast an eye over as many players as possible when Swansea City kick off their pre-season campaign at Yeovil Town tonight (7.45pm).

The Swans play their first warm-up game ahead of the new Championship season against Darren Way’s Glovers side at Huish Park.

With the second-tier opener at Sheffield United less than four weeks away, Potter says the Swans are already thinking about establishing a new playing style.

But numerous players will be given game-time in Somerset this evening as the Swans’ new management team assess the squad they inherited.

“We look at this first game as another training session essentially, but it’s also a more competitive way of working towards preparing for matches,” Potter said.

“It will be probably be a case of getting to see as many of the lads as possible for 45 minutes at Yeovil.

“But in all the pre-season games, you are looking to develop your style as well.

“That means it will be a really useful game for us and we are looking forward to it.”

The Swans will be without injured quartet Wilfried Bony, Sam Clucas, Leroy Fer and Alfie Mawson, while Martin Olsson and Kristoffer Nordfeldt are having some time off after their World Cup adventure with Sweden came to an end last weekend.

But Potter has indicated that every other member of his squad will be in contention to play some part this evening.

Yeovil, who are also in action for the first time in pre-season, finished the last campaign in 19th place in League Two.
