Routledge out of Gillingham tie

Wayne Routledge will miss Swansea City's FA Cup tie with Gillingham as Graham Potter waits on a handful of injury and illness concerns ahead of Saturday's Liberty Stadium clash (3pm).

Winger Routledge was withdrawn from the 1-0 win over Sheffield United at half-time due to a calf strain, and he will not be risked in the fourth-round meeting with the League One Gills.

Manager Potter also revealed that Nathan Dyer and Joel Asoro have been struggling with illness, while Kyle Naughton has been hindered by a knee injury which make him doubtful for the weekend.

But Tom Carroll could yet be involved as he steps up his rehabilitation following niggling hip and groin problems.

Joe Rodon and Martin Olsson are out with foot and Achilles injuries respectively, with the former having undergone surgery on the broken metatarsal picked up against the Blades which will sideline him for at least six weeks.

"Joe has had his operation today so we hope that goes well and Martin is out long term," said Potter.

"The good news is Tom has been training this week and getting more time on the pitch. It will depend how he reacts but he had a good session today.

"Kyle Naughton has been feeling his knee with some wear and tear, and a bit of fatigue there so we have to be careful with him. He is a doubt at this stage.

"Joel Asoro has been ill and Nathan was ill at the start of the week but Wilfried Bony has been training and there are a few issues where we need to see how things react over the next 24 to 48 hours.

"Wayne is going to miss the game as he had a slight calf strain so he will not be ready for the game."
