SATURDAY STATS: Arsenal v Swans

9th May

Saturday means it's time for some statistics as we look ahead to this Monday night's clash with Arsenal at the Liberty Stadium.
With the Swans still competing for their best-ever Premier League finish, we take a look at the game from a statistical perspective.

Arsenal
The Gunners are currently in a rich vein of form and haven't lost in their last 10 games. Their last defeat came against local rivals Tottenham Hotspur when they were beaten 2-1 back in February.
Arsenal have the second highest ratio of shots per game this season, with an average of 15.6. Only Manchester City shoot more, with an average of 17.4.
At the other end of the pitch, Arsene Wenger's side are also extremely proficient in intercepting opposition moves, boasting the highest average per game with 20.3 interceptions.
Chilean attacker Alexis Sanchez has enjoyed an emphatic first season in the Premier League and is the top flight's fifth highest goalscorer with 16 goals this season.
On average, Mathieu Flamini has proven the Premier League's most accurate passer this season, with a pass success percentage of 91.5.

Swans
The Swans have re-wrote the club's record books many times this season by surpassing their best-ever points total in the Premier League, delivering the most home wins in a season and achieving a first-ever league double over Manchester United. But there are still records there to be broken between now and the end of the season...
With three games left to play, the Swans could set a new club record for least goals conceded in the Premier League. Swansea have so far shipped 44 goals this campaign, with the previous record for least goals conceded being the 51 set by Michael Laudrup's team two years ago.
Garry Monk's side could also set a new record for least games lost. The Swans have lost 12 games this term, six less than last year and two less than the ninth-place finish under Laudrup in 2012-13. Avoiding defeat against Arsenal will ensure the Swans at least equal that record.
Meanwhile, the Swans are yet to finish a Premier League season with a positive goal difference. And at -1, there is still time to break that duck too.

Players with the most... Interceptions
Arsenal: Laurent Koscielny - 79
Swans: Ashley Williams - 92

Head-to-head
Overall, the two sides are all square when it comes to total league meetings. In the 11 games the two sides have met in the league, Arsenal and Swansea share five wins each, with the remaining clash being a draw.
Last time the two sides met, the Swans came from behind to beat Arsenal 2-1 last November, thanks to second half goals from Gylfi Sigurdsson and Bafe Gomis.
