Swans let off the leash

Swansea City lent a hand at Llys Nini RSPCA animal centre in Penllergaer to encourage more local volunteering and celebrate World Animal Day.

Dog lovers Matt Grimes, Courtney Baker-Richardson and Daniel James joined club ambassador Leon Britton at the Swansea-based shelter, which is home to dogs, cats, rabbits and ferrets.

The Swans stars were let off the leash to help walk the pooches and pet some puppies.

Gary Weeks, Llys Nini's animal centre manager, said. "It is absolutely brilliant to welcome the Swans here and we're really glad they have been able to lend a hand.

"We want to raise more awareness for animal welfare across south west Wales and having the Swans a part of that message is great.

"The animals are well looked after at our centre which includes lots of space and trails for them to be walked in, but the animals we have here are always after a bit of extra TLC, so volunteers are always welcome."

Llyn Nini is a registered charity. Anyone interested in volunteering or donating should contact the centre on 01792 229435 or email reception@rspca-llysnini.org.uk.
