Swansea City Community Trust launch free footgolf sessions

Swansea City AFC Community Trust is organising free socially distanced footgolf sessions for young Swans fans.

Young Jacks aged between 10 and 16 are advised to register their interest to attend the footgolf sessions and to secure their place. Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Craig Richards, youth engagement lead at the Swansea City Community Trust, is eager to restart the Kicks programme for young people across south west Wales.

He said: “We are delighted to announce that PL Kicks will return in a slightly different format but in the safest way possible. I’m sure many young people have been missing PL Kicks and this is the first step back to normality.”

Participants may play with individuals from the same household or with individuals from one different household. If from a different household, participants must adhere to social distancing. Due to the easing of lockdown restrictions in Wales, the 5-mile rule has been lifted. The partner does not have to be a regular PL Kicks participant, but they must be aged between 10 and 16.

Due to social distancing measures, the Trust can only accommodate 16 young people to attend each group. The Trust advise people to consider how far they travel to attend the event and ask they follow the Government’s advice.

The available groups are as follows:

Swansea (Swansea Footgolf, Ashleigh Road, Mumbles - SA3 5AU)

• Friday 3rd July 2020 – Group 1 - 10am-11am (Registration 9.45am)
• Friday 3rd July 2020 – Group 2 – 11.30am-12.30pm (Registration 11.15am)
• Friday 17th July 2020 – Slots available from 10am – 12:50pm.

Carmarthenshire (Tycroes Golf Club, Ammanford - SA18 3RH)

• Wednesday 8th July 2020 – Group 1 - 10am-11am (Registration 9.45am)
• Wednesday 8th July 2020 – Group 2 – 11.30am-12.30pm (Registration 11.15am)

Unfortunately, no parents or spectators will be permitted on the course at any time.
