Swansea City Under-18s Southampton

20th February

Two first half goals saw Swansea City Under-18s lose out against Southampton at Staplewood Campus in Premier League South on Saturday.
The Saints took the lead inside ten minutes as Javen Siu's throw-in found Jonathan Afolabi for the forward to turn his man before firing into the far corner.
Despite chances for the Swans, the home side doubled their advantage just before the break when Oliver Gardner headed home Tyreke Johnson's free-kick.
Swansea rallied in the second half and almost found a way back into the game when Mael Davies' close range effort was denied by Alex Cull in the Saints net.
Midfielder Oli Cooper went close to cutting the advantage moments later but could not keep his effort down.
The young Swans continued to create chances but could not find the back of the net before the final whistle.
