U18s aim to bounce back, says Lang

Alex Lang wants Swansea City Under-18s to come back stronger from defeat when they face Southampton in Premier League South on Saturday at Staplewood (1pm).

A 5-0 reverse against Chelsea last weekend ended an impressive unbeaten start to the young Swans’ Premier League South campaign which included victories over Reading and West Ham.

Despite the disappointing result, goalkeeper Lang believes they are in a positive frame of mind and have what it takes to get back to winning ways.

“The defeat against Chelsea was disappointing but we want to bounce back this weekend,” the 17-year-old said.

“The game after a heavy defeat is always important. We must make sure we have learned from it and get back to winning ways.

“We have had a positive start to the season and are challenging some of the best academies in the county.

“We are gelling well as a team and getting on well in training. It is a good combination to have and I think that is showing on the pitch.

“We need to pick up ourselves up and not let last week’s defeat affect us, continue to work hard and put things right tomorrow.”
