Under-18s suffer defeat against Ipswich

9th March

The Under-18s suffered their first defeat in seven matches on Saturday after being beaten by Ipswich at Fairwood.
After a positive first half, the home side found themselves behind at the break but they hit back immediately after the restart with a fine Dan James goal.
However, three goals in a 20-minute spell for the visitors saw them take the points, while Swansea pulled one back late on through Kyle Copp.
"Despite being a goal down, we shaded the first half," said coach Gary Richards. "We created some good opportunities and on another day we could have put them away.
"But we conceded a sloppy goal to go behind, but we couldn't have started the second half any better.
"Getting the equaliser within a minute of the restart was a good response and from then on we thought we might control the game.
"But it went the other way with us conceding three goals which left ourselves with a mountain to climb."

SWANS U18s: Lewis Thomas, Ben Jones, Joe Rodon, Keston Davies (Jordan Sherman, 45), Aaron Lewis, Tom Dyson, Adnan Maric, Kyle Copp, Ashleigh Harries, Brandon Griffiths (Dylan Thomas, 65), Dan James (Liam Edwards, 70).
