PL Kicks dodgeball tournament a hit

Our Premier League Kicks Multi-Sports project recently hosted a dodgeball tournament at Go Air Trampoline Park with over 60 young people taking part.

Teams of participants from several of our Premier League Kicks sessions battled it out at the trampoline park to win tickets to watch the Swans play at the Liberty, with a team from Morriston Youth Club securing the top spot.

“It was fantastic to see so many teams turn up from across Swansea,” said sports participation co-ordinator Craig Richards.

“There was a real mix of cultures and backgrounds involved, with some great talent on show.

“From our point of view, it is important that participants have the opportunity to engage in a range of healthy and constructive activities, which have positive personal development pathways for all involved.

“We’d like to thank all of our partners for helping to make the evening such a success.”

Aiming to use sport and creative sessions to assist in the development of young people in South West Wales, Premier League Kicks engages with participants who have previously proved difficult to reach and guides them towards a range of healthy and constructive activities.

A branch of the wider Premier League Kicks project, the multi-sport project was launched earlier in the season to introduce people in our communities to a range of different sports from basketball and tennis to skateboarding and gymnastics.

One participant, Katrin Daniels, said: “As part of Premier League Kicks Multi-Sport, I’ve had the opportunity to try my hand at a few different sports including hockey and table tennis, and I’ve really enjoyed tonight playing dodgeball and trying trampolining. I would definitely recommend the sessions to others.”

PL Kicks Multi-Sport offers gymnastics sessions at Go Air every Tuesday and Thursday from 4-6pm, as well as on a Friday at 5-6pm.

Trampoline sessions are available from 7-8pm on a Friday and the session also delivers trampolining and dodgeball at Go Air on a Saturday from 7-9pm.
