Swansea City head coach Steve Cooper has been nominated for the Sky Bet Championship manager of the month award for July.

The 40-year-old guided the Swans into the play-offs as 13 points from their final six games – including wins over Sheffield Wednesday, Birmingham City, Bristol City and Reading - saw them claim a sixth-place finish.

The Swans would go on to win the first leg of their semi-final against Brentford, but ended up missing out on a trip to Wembley after a 3-2 defeat on aggregate.

Nominated alongside Cooper are Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa, Nathan Jones of Luton Town, Stoke manager Michael O’Neill, Scott Parker of Fulham and Barnsley chief Gerhard Struber.

The winner will be announced on Friday, July 31.

Cooper previously won the August manager of the month award after going undefeated in his first month in charge of the Swans.
