Steve Cooper insists Swansea City have put their Norwich disappointment behind them as they prepare to return to Championship action against Rotherham.

The Swans will resume the season by hosting the Millers at the Liberty Stadium, sitting sixth in the table.

They could conceivably have been sitting top of the pile after a positive performance at Carrow Road before the international break, with only the lack of a ruthless edge in front of goal missing from a display that arguably merited far more than a 1-0 defeat.

It was only Swansea’s second defeat from their first 11 games of the season, and they remain firmly among the division’s early pacesetters.

And head coach Cooper says he and his players have quickly switched their focus to what lies ahead of them.

“As soon as that day has come and gone, it’s all about looking forward,” he said.

“Over the course of a season you will win, lose and draw games. That is inevitable.

“The biggest challenge is to try and be as consistent as you can, and to do that you have got to be looking forward and being positive.

“You’ve got to look forward, otherwise you just get caught up in stuff that doesn’t affect the next game.

“We’re continuing to do that and we’ll see where it takes us.”

The Swans face a Rotherham side who are back in the Championship following promotion from League One.

They sit 19th in the current table, but they have been unfortunate not to take a considerably higher number of points from their games so far.

“I’ve watched a lot of their games. Even the games they’ve not won, they’ve been really competitive,” said Cooper.

“Some things have not gone their way. I looked at them against Norwich, and they went 1-0 up and it could’ve been two or three. They’ve picked up some good points already so we know it’s a game we will need to have ourselves ready for.”
