"We have to keep winning and see what happens"

Graham Potter says Swansea City must win their next two home games and see where it takes them in the Championship play-off chase.

The Swans climbed to 10th in the table by claiming their fifth win in six games thanks to 1-0 triumph over already-relegated Ipswich at Portman Road.

It means Potter’s men are five points off the top six, with three games remaining, and a game in hand on some of the sides above them.

The Swans boss concedes chances of a play-off spot are slim, and acknowledges that even taking nine points from the final week of the season may well not be enough.

But, while there is still a chance and something to play for, he wants the Swans to keep their strong run of form going when they host Hull and Derby in SA1 in their next two fixtures.

“It’s a big outside possibility I suppose. It is quite simple for us, we have to win our games,” he said.

“But the fact we go into the last week of the season, our last week of games, and it is still a possibility – no matter how slight - says a lot about the group and our personality.

“We have had ups and downs, we have had to come back from setbacks.

“We have been good at home, we have to win our next two homes matches and then we will see.

“We have said all along we want to finish strong and get as many points as we can. Seventy one points might not be enough anyway.

“It is out of our hands but this is a young team that need every opportunity to learn, gain experience and to get better.

“That’s how we look at it so we focus on next match and try and win.”
